Expedition to the Far West
By the end of Oct. of 1859 the Frontier Management Department announced that the following Spring there would be a new expedition sent to the Far West.
The expedition will leave from Mill City in April (1860), following the path of the McNeil Expedition as far as they knew it and then heading on up the Grand Bow River toward the Rocky Mountains.
Into the Far West
Everyone starts right in with their observations and surveys even though they are in the settled area, for many of them this was new territory even though it wasn’t part of the far west territory. Every time they stop to rest the horses, people dash around getting their equipment out and making notes.
