"Princesses don't fence."

"But I'm a princess, and I do, so that means princesses do fence."

Character

Personality

She is fierce, intelligent, passionate, and stubborn. Like many of the main characters in the Enchanted Forest Chronicles, she is also possessed of uncommon good sense.

Description

She has hazel eyes and long black hair that reaches to her feet, which she usually wears in braids wrapped around her head in a sort of crown, but loose when she wants to impress someone.

Biography

Early Life

She grows up as the youngest princes of Linderwall, with 6 older sisters that are all proper princes, with golden hair and blue eyes, each one more beautiful than the last.

Cimorene is a princess who refuses to be proper. She knows a bit of fencing, cooking, magic, and political science; all things her parents made her stop learning because it "wasn't proper" for a princess to learn those things.

Dealing with Dragons

Cimorene summons her Fairy Godmother for advice on getting through to her parents. While Cimorene is trying to get help on going to interesting lessons, her Godmother only assumes she is having problems with a love interest. Finally, the Godmother brushes off these complaints as only a phase, admits she has been talking with her parents, and is generally unhelpful.

When Cimorene attends a tournament with her parents at "Sathem-by-the-Mountains"], her lady-in-waiting reveals to her that her parents have engaged her to marry Prince Therandil three weeks from that Thursday.

When she discovers what her parents has done she talks with a small green frog who lives in pool at Sathem-by-the-Mountains. The Frog has learned how to talk after meeting several enchanted princes. The frog thinks Cimorene is sensible for not wanting to marry Therandil, and suggests she runs away. After overhearing her claim she wished to be eaten by dragons, he gives her directions to "people who can help" with her problem. Following the directions of a frog she meets several dragons and begs one of them to let her be their princess, Kazul agrees.

As Kazul's princess, she learned a good deal of Latin, cooking, and even some dragon magic. Her main job was to cook and clean for Kazul. She often had very annoying Princes and Knights come to rescue her; however, as she liked Kazul quite a bit and enjoyed her time with the dragons, she would always send them protesting back down the mountains.

She's Kazul's princess for about a year. When some unsavory wizards try to fix the crossing of Colin's Stone and the picking of the next "King of the Dragons", Cimorene and her friends must find out how to stop them. Alianora accidentally found out that soapy water with lemon juice temporarily melts wizards. With the help from the the Stone Prince and Alianora, Cimorene stop the wizards, causing Kazul to become the new King of the Dragons. Cimorene helped in exposing Woraug, who was turned into a frog for undragon-like behavior. After that, Cimorene became Kazul's Chief Cook and Librarian.

Searching for Dragons

Cimorene has to search for Kazul. Mendanbar, King of the Enchanted Forest has come to visit. He has some dragon scales that used to be enchanted, but all came from one dragon, Woraug, who was turned into a frog a year earlier. With Mendanbar, Morwen, and Telemain's help, Cimorene finds Kazul in a bubble made by the wizards and hidden in the Enchanted Forest. They narrowly avoid a war between the Enchanted Forest and the dragons. Mendanbar asks Cimorene to marry him, and she agrees, much to Kazul's relief, as there is nothing left for Cimorene to do in Kazul's cave.

Calling On Dragons

Cimorene, now queen of the Enchanted Forest, leaves her husband and kingdom behind to look for Mendanbar's sword. She travels with Morwen, Telemain, some cats, Kazul, and Killer. However, at Brandel the fire-witch's tower, she finds that she is unable to contact her husband and she asked Kazul to check on him. She finds that her husband is missing and her home encased in a impenetrable bubble. She builds a home at the edge of the Enchanted Forest where she lives with her new born son, and she hides the sword until her son, direct descendant of the kings of the Enchanted Forest, can use the sword to save the kingdom.

Talking To Dragons

Sixteen years later, Antorell finds Cimorene and gets melted by her (again). Cimorene then gives her son, Daystar, the Sword of the Sleeping King. She basically kicks him out of the house and tells him to go walking in the Enchanted Forest, which is filled with all sorts of things that can transform you to animals or put you to sleep if you touch them. When Daystar frees Mendanbar from the wizard's spell, she is happy. Cimorene is the one that suggests that Shiara become Kazul's new princess until they can remove the politeness spell.
